Our Consultants

Essentially Medical meetings allow Consultants to get involved and work together with Primary Care and redefining patient pathways.

GPs are the traditional 'gatekeepers' for consultant referrals and so the Essentially Medical meetings provide the right forum to not just present on the latest treatment options, but to better understand the benefits that consultants can bring to GPs.

GPs seek high-quality service delivery models via local, acknowledged specialists. They also want to know that there is good communication with the local specialists, as well as how local services are developing.

The Consultant-led Choose and Book scheme offers patients, via their GPs, flexibility of choice. GPs need to know the associated benefits of that choice.
