Biography:
Dr Woolfson is an experienced Consultant Nephrologist. His particular clinical interests include hypertension, diabetic nephropathy, vascular disease, management of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and dialysis.
With the emergence of the Renal NSF and CKD guidelines, he welcomes opportunities to improve contact between primary and secondary care, and to meet GP colleagues to present topics or discuss them informally.
Dr Woolfson has published widely in Nephrology and, as Chairman of the North Thames Renal Specialty Training Committee, he is heavily involved in post-graduate training.
Dr Woolfson trained at Cambridge and St Thomas� Hospital then developed an interest in Nephrology whilst working as a registrar at Guy's Hospital Renal Unit. In 1997, he was appointed consultant nephrologist at Middlesex and Whittington Hospitals becoming Clinical Director in 2001.
With the merger of renal services in North Central London, his department moved to the Royal Free Hospital in 2005 and he was appointed Clinical Director for Renal, Liver and Transplantation Services in 2006.
